EastEnders clip 19
Eastenders
1. Shirley is the character that is the main stereotype and is being presented as violent and aggressive. In this video the character Shirley is the dominant stereotype in this video as she is over exaggerating and acting physically aggressive. Shirley is pulling the girl back against the wall and the people around her are watching. It is likely showing white people are arguing in a pub and this detonates that she is typical women. The common characteristics of this stereotypes in this video are where the women is pulling the girls hair and pushing her against the wall.
2. There are dominant stereotypes in this video being shown as they are over acting out what they are doing. The characters in this video are clearly exaggerating as it can be told by their facial expressions and the way they are physical harassing the other character. This has connotations of how violent they are and how typical they are acting.
3. I have seen these types of stereotypes in other tv series like Coronation street or Holly oaks. These are common stereotypes which are shown on daily tv series which are interesting as they attract people with all the drama that is going on. In other tv series, character exaggerates at the same level as Shirley but they use less physical movement. this detonated the Shirley is over acting with the girl and making drama for others to watch
